My friend, Rose Xylona Ayala, created a series of three paintings that were shown in a gallery in Mendocino, CA. I instantly fell in love with them and told her that I would like to compose music for them, a la Mussorgski/Ravel "Pictures at an Exhibition".
These orchestral pieces are the result of that collaborative vision.
The movements are:
1. “Room with a Door”
2. “Comets"
3. “Stairway to Heaven"
