Welcome to Jazzical Music's Virtual Concert - "Me & My Cello"
April 13, 2018 was a Friday. On that day I put on a benefit concert for my friend Shanda Harry, who was running for Superior Court Judge in Lake County, CA. A few people reminded me of superstitions about doing anything on "Friday the 13th". I scoffed!
The first half of the concert was planned to be in lecture form, where I would explain the inner workings of the Bach Unaccompanied Suites for Cello and then demonstrate them. The second half would feature my musical friends performing my own compositions. My plan was to use technology in the form of a projector, powerpoint presentations with animations, multiple audio and video recorders, laptop computers, and so on to create a multi-media feast for the audience.
The universe had other plans. In spite of all, we managed to produce a magnificent concert... once I let go of my expectations. Shanda was subsequently elected.
