Past The Pain

Tonality - 100%
Difficulty - Moderate
This song became my personal anthem in the early part of 1991. I composed it shortly after my wife left in December of 1990. It has served as a kind of therapy of hope.
This performance was by Melissa and Steven Keith on April 13, 2018 for the "Me and My Cello" concert at the Soper-Reese Theater in Lakeport, CA.
Past the Pain

Sometime I’ll be past the pain.
I’ll be on my feet again.
Sometime when my heart returns
I will mend it’s broken wings.

Three years ago when we took our wedding vows
I never dreamed you’d want to leave me now.
I wish I knew how to make you stay.
I need to find a way!

Sometimes when the evening’s young
I go out to walk a while.
I think back on the day you left
And the months of pain gone by.

Sometimes when it’s late at night
And I know you’re not at home
I can’t help but wonder where you are...
If who you’re with will treat you right.

Three years ago when we took our wedding vows
I never dreamed you’d want to leave me now.
I wish I knew how to make you stay.
I need to find a way!

Sometime I’ll be past the pain.
Sometime I’ll be past the pain
Sometime I’ll be past the pain!
