Having Sung My Song
This is a song I originally composed in 1983. I didn't realize until recently that I only wrote the lyrics, melody, and chords. The song was haunting me so I found it buried in a pile of ancient music and composed the piano accompaniment to it. Since Facebook only allows videos for music, I created this video to tell the story behind the piece. Back in 1983 we could only dream of this kind of technology!

Having Sung My Song
Having sung my song, I wanted your reply... Not in shades of red, nor melodies draws from blue. I see your canvas is brown and gold, Like colors of Fall. Your eyes, a window to your life, Speak gently of sea and sand; Of quiet hills brushed by a sunset. I could not sleep the night you came. The moon was full in the sky. I listened only to silence... The roar heard when the heart is stilled. And I, oh I, wanting your reply Know your song is sung by another... The music heard when the heart is full. And I, oh I, wanting your reply Know your song is sung by another... The music heard when the heart is full. Clovice A. Lewis, Jr. |
