Cello Duo
This two movement piece is the first cello duo I have composed. The first movement was recorded at my house by myself and Jeff Ziegler in the summer of 1991. Yes, THE 16-year old Jeff was a student of mine for a brief time. We played the first movement for a recital he did.
My cellist friend Les Shiaman visited over night with me and and my wife Carol on Sunday night, December 11, 2016. The next morning, right after breakfast, Les and I read through some of my music. Carol liked the Cello Duo so much that she set up a tripod and her iPhone and took this video of us playing the second movement. So this is really, really rough... Les and I were just having fun, and we're certainly not dressed for a concert. The duo was composed in 1990, and up until that time I had not heard anything but the computerized version of the second movement. What a blast it was to finally hear it played with two "real" cellos.
